Call for Papers | Doping in Sport, Doping in Society: Lessons, Themes, and Connections | International Network of Doping Research Conference, 24–25 August, 2017, Aarhus, Denmark

The International Network of Doping Research (INDR) invites abstract submissions for consideration for the 2017 conference. The conference theme will thematise how performance enhancement is more than just a matter for elite sport. Recent scholarship has indicated how deeply rooted questions about doping and performance enhancement are to society as well.

PhD position for research on doping and professional cycling at Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Lausanne

The main research area is about doping in elite road cycling. The data collection and analysis are mainly qualitative (interviews with riders, sports directors, trainers, physicians) and relate to: the interplay between riders’ socialisation and teams’ organisation, the careers in elite cycling, the production of performance, the physical preparation, the use of pharmacological products (e.g. doping).

The 2015 INHDR conference: Evaluating the unintended effects of anti-doping

On the 27th and 28th of August 2015 members of the International Network of Humanistic Doping Research assembled in Aarhus, Denmark for the 6th International INHDR conference. Under the theme “Evaluating the unintended effects of anti-doping”, the conference had a record number of abstract submissions, of which most were of very high quality.
