The Department of Public Health at the Faculty of Health, Aarhus University, invites applications for one or more full-time, permanent positions as Associate Professor within one or more of our main academic areas: Applied Public Health, Clinical Public Health, Epidemiology, Environment & Biostatistics, and Sport Science. The teaching profile for the position is within philosophy of science. The expected start date is 1 May 2027, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Health promotion is concerned with understanding how health and well-being can be promoted. Research in this field addresses a broad range of issues related to health promotion practice. It is interdisciplinary and encompasses a variety of theoretical approaches as well as both qualitative and quantitative methods. An important aim is to generate knowledge and expertise to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of health-promoting interventions. The research focuses primarily on food and physical activity.

An Assistant Professorship is a fixed-term position with a maximum duration of four years. An Associate Professorship is a permanent position.

The Department of Sport and Social Sciences, NIH, is advertising a three-to-four-year (depending on teaching assignments) PhD position in the field of sport management. The department comprises a broad academic environment that conducts research in sports philosophy, sports history, sports sociology, sports psychology, coaching, and sport management. The PhD project is partially predefined and focuses on how organized sport can contribute to increased physical activity among adults. The PhD candidate will have considerable freedom to define the specific focus of the project within this overall thematic framework.

Stillingen er knyttet til det NFR-finansierte forskningsprosjektet EquiPETE - Co-developing an evidence-based framework for equity, diversity and inclusion in physical education teacher education. Ph.d.-kandidaten, som også kan være masterstudent fra 2026, vil ha en sentral rolle i prosjektets aksjonsforskningsaktiviteter og arbeide innenfor to sammenhengende forskningsområder som omfatter både campusbasert undervisning og praksisopplæring i skolen. Prosjektet er forankret i mixed methods-tilnærminger, og både kvalitative og kvantitative metoder kan derfor være aktuelle i kandidatens arbeid.

This study seeks to advance understanding of, and contribute to, international policy on increasing and enhancing diversity in sport leadership and recruitment. It is founded on a unique partnership between UNESCO (specifically UNESCO Sport Section) and Loughborough University. The study will also benefit from Loughborough University’s very strong research track record and infrastructure which will ensure the effective delivery of this research (e.g. UNESCO Chair, Women in Sport, Policy Unit).

Malmö University is looking for an associate senior lecturer in sport sciences with focus on sustainability at the Department of Sport Sciences, a part of the Faculty of Education and Society. Sport sciences is a multidisciplinary subject area at Malmö University, with an emphasis on the social sciences and humanities. Environmental, economic and social sustainability are important perspectives in our research profile, and they have relevance for studies of physical education in schools, sports for children and youth, professional sports and outdoor recreation.
