AIESEP’s 2013 Conference on “Physical Education and Sport: Challenging the Future” will be held in Warsaw, Polandbetween July 4-7, 2013. Please visit conference website www.aiesep2013.com and learn more about registration, the programme, travel, and accommodation.

The 2013 AIESEP Specialist Seminar is due to take place in Jyväskylä, Finland, on 12th-14th September 2013. This seminar will bring together experts with an interest in tackling questions and issues related to the role of physical education teacher education in ensuring quality PE in the classroom. The seminar hopes to facilitate the sharing of best practice between teacher education professionals from various countries, including those who educate PE specialists, classroom teachers, kindergarten teachers and teachers in special education. As this is a specialist seminar, spaces are limited to approximately 80 delegates and the organizers are currently making a list of those who might be interested in attending. If you would like to be included in this list and be kept informed regarding the seminar please send an email with your contact details to aiesep2013@jyu.fi. The Special Interest Group (SIG) in Research on Learning and Instruction in Physical Education of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) will hold their “Invisible College” April 27-28, 2013 prior to the AERA Annual Meeting in San Francisco, CA. The World Day for Physical Activity – 2013 was celebrated the week of April 1-8. The central topic for the celebration was: “No Barriers to Physical Activity”! The conference is interdisciplinary and of interest to both researchers and practitioners working within the field of physical activity, sport and health. Organized by the Department of Sports Sciences of the University of Beira Interior (Covilhã, POR – May, 31 and June, 1, 2013), the 1st Congress of Sports, Education and Health will include lectures, free communications, posters and workshops. It targets professionals and students in the areas of sports medicine, physiotherapy, psychology, education, sociology, among others. The free communications and posters must fall within the following themes: Pedagogy of Sport, Motor Learning and Control, School Sport and Physical Education and Physical Activity and Special Populations. The Spanish Federation of Associations of Teachers of Physical Education (FEADEF) will organize one of the activities that are becoming the national benchmark of all PE teachers, the “X International Congress of Teacher in Physical Education and Sport” which will be held in Pontevedra, ESP on September 5-8, 2013. The Asian Online Journals welcomes research scholars and scientists from different domains in its sphere of Open Access publication. We invite you to submit manuscripts preferably online or sent it by email. Two journals would be interesting for Sport Pedagogy: Asian Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (ajhss@ajouronline.com) or Asian Journal of Education and e-Learning (ajeel@ajouronline.com).

ICSSPE has been invited to collaborate in an initiative by “Excellence in Pediatrics”, aimed at increasing awareness among medical personnel, of the need for physical activity. This is a welcome development for ICSSPE, since it supports our priority “Healthy Living Across the Life Span”, and complements our work with “Designed to Move”. We are constructing a database of organizations at national and regional level, for pediatricians and for parents or parent/teachers associations. We would therefore be grateful if you would send to us the contact details for such organizations in your country/region.
