Som postdoc kommer du att bedriva historisk forskning i ett projekt inriktat på idrott och friluftsliv i ett brett samhällsperspektiv med fokus på miljö och hållbarhet. The Department of Sport and Social Sciences has a vacant PhD candidate position in the field of sport philosophy. There is the possibility of applying to one out of two (or to both) predefined PhD projects. One project will be focusing on the ethics of medicalization and performance-enhancing means in sport, and the other on eco-philosophical and environmental issues in sport.

This special issue will cover empirical research (both qualitative and quantitative), and systematic reviews. Examples of evidence-based practice pertaining to tourism are also encouraged. All submissions will be peer-reviewed. Studies focusing on the relationship between leisure and tourism, as well as tourism from the global perspective and in non-dominant contexts (such as for example social tourism, volunteer tourism) are particularly sought.

The world is in state of rapid transformation. Sports are not excluded from these accelerated political, structural and cultural changes. Rather, sports play a part in these rapid transformations. This conference aims to bring forward perspectives that could enlighten our understanding of sports and the environment through a broad spectrum of social scientific enquiries.

This Special Issue seeks submissions on sport and sustainability within two emerging areas: (1) Culture and Politics: We seek forward-thinking research focused on the role of culture and politics related to sport organization sustainability practices, broadly conceived. (2) Fan Engagement: Academic research on the topic of sport influencing its fanbase is still in its infancy, and more research is warranted.

The symposium seeks to address this lack of knowledge, exploring the design of different sport and recreational landscapes over time and how they have given expression to various understandings of nature and culture. What are the relationships between sport landscapes and their environment? What is the relationship between the site itself and the culture of sports and recreation embedded within it?

The Journal of Outdoor and Environmental Education (JOEE) is an international journal of the outdoor profession owned by the Outdoor Council of Australia and strongly supported by Outdoor Education Australia. The journal provides an academic forum in which empirical and non-empirical research concerning outdoor and environmental education can be shared and discussed.

Seeking a wider range of outcomes through sport-based interventions and establishment of partnerships with non-sport sectors is characteristic of policy aspirations internationally. This special issue seeks to uncover the global challenges in terms of managing the re-orientation of stakeholder activities and organisational strategies in response to such re-alignment of sport policy.

A Research Associate is required to work on an exciting, ESRC-funded project studying the role of sport, cultural and educational programmes in promoting sustainable development. As part of our research team, you will undertake research into the organisation and delivery of these programmes in three international locations (Cape Verde, Nepal and Timor Leste).
