The project objective is to investigate what International Sporting Associations actually do when it comes to the human rights situation in countries where sporting events are held. The ambition is to explore their potential for institutional innovation in order to remain independent as servants of sport and through that, as interlinked by the Office of the High Commissioner, contribute to the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Denna kurs tar avstamp i de senaste årens tillagande intresse för forskning om demokrati och styrningsprocesser och applicerar denna forskning på föreningsidrottens utveckling över tid. Den behandlar hur den organiserade idrotten har styrts, hur demokratin har fungerat internt inom idrottsrörelsen och vilken roll den har spelat för demokratiutvecklingen i samhället i stort.

Denna andra volym är tänkt att behandla olika former av styrning inom och av idrotten, från ekonomiska och politiska aspekter till juridisk, social och etisk styrning. Vi betraktar härvid ”governance” ganska brett och volymen kan därmed komma att innehålla bidrag om allt från föreningsrätt, IdrottsAB, statsbidrag, och finansiering i allmänhet till CSR, integration och dess policy, ”Sport for Development”, etc.

Her offentliggør vi de danske resultater fra det internationale National Sports Governance Observer-projekt, som undersøger ledelseskulturen i ni europæiske lande og Brasilien. DBU’s formand, Jesper Møller, og DIF-formand og næstformand i de Europæiske Olympiske Komitéer Niels Nygaard er blandt de der vil diskutere de danske resultater og pege på forbedringspotentialet i egne rækker.

Call for Papers | From Forgotten Women to an Intersectional Approach in the Prosopography of International Sporting Institutions | RERIS Conference, Barcelona, July 2017

This conference will be an opportunity to take our prosopographical perspective further, with an emphasis on figures from these forgotten groups. As this panel is meant to understand the position of women within major sporting institutions, it will welcome biographies, as well as network presentations or collective biographies of women.
