This conference will attempt to historicize the Pan-American Games and the narratives, policies and legacies they have promoted over the years. It will feature papers from an international array of scholars, as well as a session on Toronto 2015.

The BSSH has members across the world, and we welcome anyone with an interest in the history of sport to our website and hope the material here is both interesting and useful for you. We are committed to sharing ideas, information and a passion for the study of the history of sport.

We seek submissions from scholars working in diverse fields (history, anthropology, sociology, media studies, cultural studies, among others) as our intent is to facilitate a dialogue that is as interdisciplinary as possible.
