This special issue of the Journal of Global Sport Management seeks to draw together and to showcase contemporary theorizations and empirical research into the Sport for Development and Peace sector.  Our focus is on the broadly defined managerial dimensions of SDP, and the various underpinning political, economic, social and cultural aspects of the sector.

The Journal of Global Sport Management (JGSM) aims to be the global platform for focused, rigorous, and interdisciplinary research that has originality, depth, and clarify of insights into significant issues and developments of interest to sport management. Its main objectives: to advance research; to enhance practice; and to facilitate good policy-making decisions.

This special issues seeks to serve as a venue to help highlight and showcase research which advances and enhances and the understanding of sport in Asia. It will broadly cover topics in sports economics and sport management within Asia, and is open to submissions from various disciplines.

This special issue seeks to investigate the nature of various aspects of US-based intercollegiate athletics that can shed light on its uniqueness and distinctiveness. While college athletics in the US is unique, numerous countries are exploring plans to develop a system of intercollegiate athletics in their own markets.

Manuscripts are currently being solicited for an upcoming special issue of the Journal of Global Sport Management. As the field of sport management has evolved, challenges have been raised concerning the uniqueness of sport management education content and research. Accordingly, this special issue welcomes submissions that highlight or even demonstrate the uniqueness of the sport context.

Integrity in the playing and management of sport is becoming one of the critical issues of our time. Actions that undermine the integrity of sport run the risk of undermining the business of sport and putting the jobs and economic value of a whole sector in jeopardy. Manuscripts are currently being solicited that identify the critical ethical issues that arise in the topic under discussion.
