    Applicants in any of the areas of Sport, Physical Activity, and Exercise and Health should connect with one of the following research groups:
      • Body – movement – meaning — contact Prof Pal Augestad (Pal.Augestad@usn.no)
        “We conduct research on dominant movement cultures in society: sports, outdoor life, dance, fitness, physical education, and more. Our aim is to understand the emergence, content, and effects of these body cultures.”
      • The Politics of Sports and Culture — contact Dr Tommy Langseth (Tommy.Langseth@usn.no)
        “The participants in this research group represent various academic fields, such as culture, sports and outdoor life. They work cross disciplinary.”
      • Health and Exercise in a Lifecourse Perspective – contract Prof Solfrid Bratland-Sanda (Solfrid.Bratland-Sanda@usn.no)
        “The research group “Health and Exercise in a Life-Course Perspective” (HELP) studies health, exercise, and physical activity across the lifespan. The research emphasizes physical, psychosocial, and environmental dimensions of health, performance, and physical activity.”

    The studentships cover study fees and provide an annual salary of 550,800 NOK (currently around £41,000 GBP or 46,500 Euros), entry onto Norwegian State and Public Service pension funds, and annual research support of 30,000 NOK (around £2,200 GBP or 2,500 Euros).
