    Denna utlysning görs i samarbete med Malmö universitets forskningscentrum Citizen Health och vi välkomnar ansökningar med centrets inriktning. Den forskning som görs inom Citizen Health (CzH), är baserad på forskningsmodellen Community-Academic Health Partnership (CAHP) där forskarna arbetar med CBPR (Community-based participatory research). Genom modellen som bygger på deltagande från medborgare och olika samhällsaktörer, siktar Citizen Health på att minska hälsoklyftor och stärka hälsofrämjande insatser i utsatta grupper.

    Applicants must be qualified for a doctoral fellowship at the NIH (a completed master’s degree on a relevant topic within the sport sciences, philosophy and or ethics/bioethics, the history of ideas, or other fields of relevance for the Ph.D. project. The minimum grade point average is B/2,5). Three examples of possible PhD project topics: The Ethics of Sport; The Nature and Value of Sport ; and Human Movement Skills: Epistemological Perspectives .Mastery of a Scandinavian language will strengthen the application.

    PhD Studentship Opportunity | Physical Activity and Health Across the Life Span | Agder University, Norway. Apply no later than April 24, 2024

    A 100% position is available at the University of Agder, Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences as a PhD Research Fellow in Sport Science, affiliated to the Department of Sport Science and Physical Education, for a period of three years. The position is located, at the present, at Campus Kristiansand. The PhD student will be part of the Physical Activity and Health Across the Lifespan (PAHLS) research group, that conducts research on the links between physcial activity, exercise and health in individuals across all ages.

    In this PhD position, we invite candidates to conduct studies on sports technology and youth from a sociological perspective. Sports technology encompasses the use of technology in all aspects of sports, including organized sports, esports, and self-organized sports. Examples of digitalization elements in sports may include self-tracking through smartphones and smartwatches, the use of wearable technologies in organized sports, esports, or athletes' self-presentation on social media.

    PhD studentship opportunity | A level playing field? Understanding diversity in the British Sports Media | Apply no later than January 9, 2024

    By focusing on the under-researched area of workforce diversity among British sports journalists, this project will (1) provide new and much needed insights into the levels of diversity and inclusion (or lack thereof) at all levels of the industry, (2) explore the challenges and opportunities that sports journalists from minority groups encounter within the industry, and (3) provide insight into senior managers’ understandings of the current state of play.

    Successful applicants will join the SCDTP cohort of PhD studentships and benefit from a dedicated PhD training programme based upon a carefully designed development needs analysis that will enhance knowledge and skills even further. The SCDTP studentship provides a basic annual maintenance grant of £18,622 (2023/24 UKRI Rate) as well as access to a Research Training Support Grant. Moreover, a three-month research-in-practice opportunity with a relevant organisation is embedded as part of the studentship, meaning employability prospects are maximised.
