Denna utlysning görs i samarbete med Malmö universitets forskningscentrum Citizen Health och vi välkomnar ansökningar med centrets inriktning. Den forskning som görs inom Citizen Health (CzH), är baserad på forskningsmodellen Community-Academic Health Partnership (CAHP) där forskarna arbetar med CBPR (Community-based participatory research). Genom modellen som bygger på deltagande från medborgare och olika samhällsaktörer, siktar Citizen Health på att minska hälsoklyftor och stärka hälsofrämjande insatser i utsatta grupper.

Applicants must be qualified for a doctoral fellowship at the NIH (a completed master’s degree on a relevant topic within the sport sciences, philosophy and or ethics/bioethics, the history of ideas, or other fields of relevance for the Ph.D. project. The minimum grade point average is B/2,5). Three examples of possible PhD project topics: The Ethics of Sport; The Nature and Value of Sport ; and Human Movement Skills: Epistemological Perspectives .Mastery of a Scandinavian language will strengthen the application.

De Montfort University's International Centre for Sports History and Culture (ICSHC) is open to individuals outside the UK who would be interested in applying for the British Academy International Fellowship. This programme, run jointly with the Royal Society, provides support for outstanding early career researchers to make a first step towards developing an independent research career through gaining experience across international borders.

Institutt for lærerutdanning og friluftslivsstudier (ILF) er ett av fire institutter ved NIH. Ansatte på ILF driver med forskning og undervisning innen generell pedagogikk, kroppsøving/idrettsfag, friluftslivsfag, fagdidaktikk, og tilpasset opplæring. Det søkes etter en person som på selvstendig grunnlag kan bidra til å videreutvikle kvaliteten i lærerutdanningene som ILF har ansvaret for. Stillingen er tillagt 20 % forsknings- og utviklingsarbeid og 80% undervisning. 

The research group RESPONSE has an active and cutting edge research environment in sociology of sport. The PhD position is part of the ongoing research on sports tech conducted by the group. In this PhD position, we invite candidates to conduct studies on sports technology from a sociological perspective. Sports technology encompasses the use of technology in all aspects of sports, including organized sports, esports, and self-organized sports.

With the rise of the internet and smartphones, our sources of information have seen a massive shift. We no longer exclusively turn to books, professionals, or institutions for advice; we also turn to the internet. Among the myriad topics we seek information on, fitness stands out. And guiding us through our digital fitness journeys are online fitness influencers. This is especially the case for male gym goers who are a core audience for many of the internet’s most famous fitness personalities.This PhD examines how influencers have become such central figures in fitness spaces.
