Susanna Hedenborgs forskning har berört flera aktuella områden inom idrottsvetenskap så som genus- och maktrelationer inom idrotten, barns rättigheter inom idrott, erfarenheter av idrott och fysisk aktivet under coronapandemin, idrott och hållbarhet samt hästsport. Hedenborg har publicerat ett stort antal artiklar och har genom sin forskning bidragit med ny och viktig kunskap inom det idrottsvetenskapliga området.

Affärsmannen Greg Dingizian ligger bakom donationen, som är gjord genom hans investmentbolag Agartha AB. Syftet är att stärka forskningen om mindfulness vid Institutionen för idrottsvetenskap men även för hela fakulteten för Lärande och samhälle.. Hans förhoppning är att forskningen ska bidra till mer kunskap om psykisk ohälsa.

SISU Förlags ambitiösa trebandsutgåva Sport Management 1–3, under redaktion av Åsa Bäckström, Karin Book, Bo Carlsson och PG Fahlström, får genomgående positiva omdömen av idrottsforum.orgs recensenter, Søren Bennike som recenserade del 1 i oktober 2019, och Julius Z. Strömberg i föreliggande recension av delarna 2 och 3. Strömberg efterlyser visserligen ett nordiskt perspektiv men ser inte den bristen som ett hinder för att använda böckerna när han lär ut sport management på Norges idrettshøgskole.
