The editorial board of the ISLJ is inviting you to submit abstracts for its second ISLJ Annual Conference on International Sports Law. The ISLJ, published by Springer in collaboration with Asser Press, is the leading academic publication in the field of international sports law. Its readership includes academics and many practitioners active in the field. This call is open to researchers as well as practitioners. 

The football collective conference theme for 2018 is challenging the narrative. We welcome papers and presentations that will challenge myths and misconceptions, commonly held attitudes and positions. As the gap between fans and bodies (including clubs) grows wider and financial division within the game becomes more entrenched, critical thinking about the game has never been more necessary.

Known as the ‘people’s game’, no other sport has captured the public imagination in quite the same way as Association Football. Bringing together social science researchers and football practitioners, this conference will examine some of the contemporary challenges facing the ‘people’s game’ and will explore opportunities to address these challenges.

The conference theme is a celebration and sharing of the impact of sporting heritage across a wide range of agendas. We're looking for contributions to the conference which echo this theme and help to generate a wide understanding of the role and value of sporting heritage – this could be in the form of case studies, policy contexts, or discussion papers

This one-day conference at Oxford Brookes University aims to investigate different forms of discrimination (racial, gender, sexuality, disability, class, etc), across a range of sports, drawing on work from a variety of academic fields (including sociology, sports studies, psychology, politics, history, and media and cultural studies).

We are pleased to share with you the call for abstracts for the international workshop "Costa Blanca Sports Science Week”. The main topic of the workshop is: Current issues in Sport Science. Linked to this topic, the organizers have reserved a preferred space for contributions on the Olympic Movement and Olympism.

The theme of the conference is “Why Equine History Matters,” meant to show the relevance of equine history for historical studies. We therefore encourage papers that illustrate how any facet of equine history, broadly or narrowly conceived, helps to illuminate, interpret, and contextualize the past.

Sessions may reveal how sport and music challenge the social, economic, and political landscape that often illuminate inequities of race, gender, class, sexual orientation, ability, age, and so on. Session submissions may also demonstrate how the relationship between sport and music have influenced career industries such as media and film, event management, marketing & public relations, journalism, fashion, and beyond.

Founded in 2005, the working group aims for a transnational and interdisciplinary exchange of researchers with an interest in the study of sport and gender. The program of the 11th annual meeting focuses on sexism, discrimination, sexual harassment and violence studies in the field of Physical Education and sport, LGBTQ+, as well as leadership and coaches' perspectives.

We invite you to deliver a presentation at the second South African Sport Historical Studies Conference. The proceedings will take place in the form of oral and paper presentations that hone in on cultural, social and political displays of the body in society. Colleagues from all over the country and the international community who are active in the creation of sport historical texts are invited.
