The International Journal of Sport Policy and Politics aims to publish articles that address all aspects of sport policy irrespective of academic discipline. Articles that adopt a multi-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary or comparative approach are particularly welcome.

The Asia-Pacific Journal of Health, Sport and Physical Education has a particular focus on social science research-based articles that make reference to other critical work in the field and/or discuss particular issues of practice-focused research within the specific professional field.

Sport, Education and Society encourages contributions from social scientists and educationalists studying the relationships between pedagogy, ‘the body’ and society as well as from all professionals with theoretical and empirical interests relating to policy, curriculum, social inclusion, equity and identity, and progressive educational development in physical activity, health and sport.

Peter Hay’s and Dawn Penney’s recent book Assessment in Physical Education: A sociocultural perspective receives a favorable assessment in Claes Annerstedt’s knowledgeable review, and is strongly recommended by our reviewer.

The pursuit of interdisciplinarity in sport studies in the hope of breaking the natural and biosciences hegemony in the field is the objective of editor Joseph Maguire’s collected volume Social Sciences in Sport. Alan Bairner reviews the effort and finds much to appreciate, but apparently, this is not the holy grail that the social sciences of sport urgently need.
