Call for Papers

The Journal of Applied Sport Management (JASM), the official publication of the Southern Sport Management Association, invites high quality manuscript submissions and pledges a prompt and fair review process for all contributing authors. Formerly known as the Journal of Sport Administration and Supervision, this quarterly peer-reviewed Journal provides the latest research in all aspects of applied sport management including organizational behavior/theory, marketing, law, economics, finance, facility/event management, communication and media relations, sponsorship and sales, governance, and ethics. The mission of JASM is to develop, advance, disseminate, promote, and preserve knowledge within the academic discipline of sport management by providing an outlet that is both grounded in academic theory and driven by the needs of practitioners and the environment of the sport industry. Unique to JASM is a split-focus review board consisting of academicians and practitioners, and every research article includes an accompanying management white paper with the findings presented in a manner more suited for practitioners.

Only manuscripts that make a strong contribution to sport management practice, based on the practical, conceptual, philosophical, and empirical grounding of the piece, will be considered for publication.Authors are required to submit both a Scholarly Manuscript (reviewed by academicians) and a corresponding Management Whitepaper (reviewed by practitioners). The style guidelines for Scholarly Manuscripts and Management Whitepapers are posted athttp://js.sagamorepub.com/jasm/about/submissions

Authors should direct submissions through the online submission system for the Journal of Applied Sport Management at http://js.sagamorepub.com/jasm/about/submissions. This system manages the electronic transfer of manuscripts throughout the article review process while providing step-by-step instructions and a user-friendly design. Please note that a blind review process is used to evaluate manuscripts. As such, any clues to the author’s identity should be eliminated from the manuscript prior to submission. Questions about the Journal or manuscript submission should be directed to the Associate Editor of JASM, Dr. Matthew Walker, at Matthew.B.Walker@usm.edu
