To celebrate the launch of a new Sport Policy Centre, within the School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences, a graduate conference on the theme of ‘Sport Politics, Policy and Society’ will take place on 4 December 2014 followed by an invited guest speaker.
The conference objective is to provide postgraduate students the opportunity to share their research expertise on sport with their peers and to receive feedback and comment from leading academics in the field, including Professor Barrie Houlihan, Professor Tess Kay, Professor Fiona Carmichael, Dr Jonathan Grix, Dr Peter Millward, and Dr Ross Neville.
The conference itself is scheduled to run from 10am to 5:00pm after which delegates are invited to attend a drinks reception and guest lecture at 6:30pm at University House. We welcome abstracts of up to a maximum of 300 words for papers that address – but are not restricted to – the following themes:
- Sport Politics;
