We are pleased to welcome your abstract for our upcoming panel which will takes place during the 5th Meeting of Young Researchers of the Contemporary History Association (AHC), next July in Barcelona (Spain).

Our ambition is to propose a panel that could enable a meeting between Sport and International relations young historians around the development of European sports between 1945 and 1989. As Football’s history as been a point of interest for historians those last decades, our ambition is to give the possibility to explore the transformation and the political instrumentalization of all types of sports during the Cold War, as the proposals can recover a lot of topics and every sort of theoretical backgrounds:

  • Political boycotts
  • Foreign policies
  • Specialization of training methods
  • Gender testing
  • Doping cases
  • Institutions governance
  • Managers and athletes biographies.
