The organizing committee is pleased to announce the 2nd Life Through Movement International Conference in South Africa (LTMIC) – 10th to the 13th September 2014. The conference is presented by the Biokinetic Association of Southern Africa in collaboration with the University of Stellenbosch (US), University of Cape Town (UCT) and the University of Western Cape (UWC).
AIM
The conference is organised around the theme “Life Through Movement”. The aim is to bring different role players within the field of Movement Science and Health Science together to promote performance, health and well-being through physical activity. The conference will focus on the understanding, implementation and role of physical activity and exercise in different settings of life and health.
This conference would provide network opportunities and inter-disciplinary collaborations for colleagues in the field of physical activity and health. To serve this purpose the conference would like to facilitate learning and motivating collaboration through pre-conference workshops, keynote addresses, research presentations, practical workshops, café conversations and informal discussions.
TRACKS
We would like to invite you to submit abstracts for papers, posters and practical workshops in the following three tracks:
- Track One: Movement related to Health Promotion
Papers to be submitted on the following topics:
– Motor learning and development
– Therapeutic recreation
– Preventive medicine
– Corporate wellness
– Special populations (Children, Pregnancy, Elderly ect.) - Track Two: Movement related to Orthopaedic Management and Disease Management
Papers to be submitted on the following topics:
-Orthopaedic rehabilitation
– Cardiac rehabilitation
– Clinical management of diseases with exercise as modality
– Exercise is Medicine - Track Three: Movement related to Science, Coaching and Management of Sport and:Performance
– Sport law & management
– Exercise and sport sciences
– Coaching sciences and performance analysis
All proposals for individual papers, posters and workshops must be received by 31 May 2014. Submissions will open on 31 March 2014.
