Dear all,

Last week the following items were published on idrottsforum.org (see below; language and publication dates, YYMMDD, in brackets). Click on the red headings to go to content. Utilize the Google Translate service to turn Scandinavian language pages into (some sort of) English.
And remember, if you’re not already hooked up to one of the social media outlets that we utilize, for now they are Facebook, LinkedIn and X, you’re missing quite a lot of information from idrottsforum.org that never appears on the website. So, if that is the case, check out, by clicking on the names, our Facebook, LinkedIn and X accounts.
Have a great week,

This peer review article by Jannicke Stålstrøm, Zack P. Pedersen & Marina Iskhakova examines the influence of Olympism in a cross-cultural context within the Youth Olympic Games educational program. A mixed methods approach was used to analyse both quantitative and qualitative data from former Singaporean and Norwegian Youth Olympic Games athletes. The findings indicate that when comparing Singaporean and Norwegian athletes, Singaporean athletes appear to be more receptive towards the Youth Olympic Games educational program and its impact. En överblick av idrottens utveckling under 2023: Analys och recension av en rapport [An overview of the development of sports in Sweden 2023: Analysis and review of a report]

On behalf of the government, the Swedish Centre for Sports Research annually carries out an in-depth analysis of the conditions and prerequisites for the sports movement to conduct competitive and sustainable elite sports activities, based on the state’s extensive financial support for sports. What do we get for the money? We have sent the reports for the last three years to Björn Anders Larsson, and now his analysis and review of the report for 2023 is available. Our reviewer is mainly positive about the evaluation – what is measured is measured correctly – but he would like to see a broader societal perspective. (Review in Swedish, published 250530.)
