The landscape of sport, and sport scholarship, continues to change rapidly. The Journal of Emerging Sport Studies is committed to publishing scholarship that reflects the changing face of sport studies around the world. Our journal will publish scholarship from across academic disciplines and welcomes unique sport perspectives from established and emerging sport scholars.

The mission of Kinesiology Review is to advance the field of Kinesiology by publishing evaluative, insightful, and integrative scholarly reviews of kinesiology research, both basic and applied. Kinesiology Review encourages the submission of critical reviews, analysis of significant issues, position papers, and synthesis articles pertinent to kinesiology.

Sport Scholar Profile | Jörg Krieger, Aarhus University

Jörg Krieger is a German sport historian, working as Assistant Professor for Sport and Social Science at Aarhus University in Denmark. In his research, he explores the policies and attitudes of sport organizations and their leaders in their attempts to combat challenging issues such as doping and corruption. Jörg’s current research focus is on the socio-political history of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

This special issue of IJHS will explore historical factors that have made the Winter Olympic Games unique, special, or different from both summer sport festivals and other winter festivals. Moving beyond sport-specific histories, which abound for the sports of skiing and ice hockey, this special issue will consider the variety – and expanding list – of sports on the Winter Olympic Games program.

Robert Svenssons syfte med avhandlingen är att undersöka den svenska manliga elitfotbollstränarens skiftande position i relation till förändrade förhållanden för elitfotboll mellan 1960 och 2010. Historien om den svenska fotbollstränaren analyseras utifrån det foucaultska perspektivet på styrning.

There has been a noticeable upsurge in the scholarship on protest and sport, and this volume will compliment and expand on them to highlight the various ways that sport and sporting spaces have been used and their impact on social, political, and economic issues in and around the Black Atlantic and African Diaspora. The current volume will bring these various sporting protests into conversation.
