De to viktigste er: 1) Sammenhengen mellom regelmessig fysisk aktivitet og helse, og 2) Helseproblemer knyttet til utøvelse av idrett (f. eks. astma og idrettsskader).

Efter 20 år som leg naprapat för diverse elitidrottare tog Ulrika Tranæus en magisterexamen i psykologi inriktning idrott. Sedan rullade det på i samarbete med professor Urban Johnson på Högskolan i Halmstad och Centrum för idrottsskadeforskning och utbildning, Karolinska Institutet, vilket resulterade i en avhandling där hon fick ihop både idrottsmedicin och idrottspsykologi.

Andreas Ivarsson disputerade vid Högskolan i Halmstad fredagen den 8 maj, och han hoppas att hans forskningsresultat leder till att fler idrottare systematiskt börjar arbeta med stresshantering och på så sätt slipper skador.
