Torbjörn Andersson (f.1963) har studerat kulturvetarlinjen vid Stockholms universitet och historia vid Lunds universitet. Han disputerade år 2002 i Lund på en avhandling i historia, Kung Fotboll: Den svenska fotbollens kulturhistoria från 1800-talets slut till 1950. Numera är han docent i idrottsvetenskap med inriktning mot historia, och verksam som både forskare och lärare. Han är internationell redaktör för världens enda akademiska fotbollstidskrift, Soccer & Society.
