This special issue of Soccer & Society, with guest editors Aage Radmann and Susanna Hedenborg, highlights female fandom in a global perspective. We welcome multi-disciplinary approaches to the theme.

Fantasy sports have more recently grown in popularity in the world outside the US, raising a number of novel legal questions. The ISLJ wants to support fruitful global discussions about these questions through a special issue. We welcome contributions from different jurisdictions analyzing fantasy sports from the perspective of various areas of law including, but not limited to, intellectual property law, gambling law, and competition law.

We invite submissions of original, previously unpublished manuscripts that are as ambitious and inspiring as Kobe’s approach to the game and life. Bryant was more than a basketball player. He was a husband, father, humanitarian, and mentor to numerous athletes as well as an Academy Award recipient.

The scholarship of teaching and learning of biomechanics encompasses a very wide variety of topics. Papers focused on innovative biomechanics education and outreach efforts will be considered across all scales, including: global or national initiatives; community partnerships and programs; interdisciplinary university programs; biomechanics curriculum; specific course structure or approach; teaching pedagogies; and learning innovations.

In addition to focusing on hegemony in terms of power and dominance, this special issue will also host questions related to rebellion, disobedience, and non-compliance, as both a supplement and a contradiction to conformity. By putting the subject in a Scandinavian context, the issue will have a unique and exclusive status and position: as a wide-ranging analysis of hegemonic cultures in Scandinavian sports.

Call for Papers | “Benefits and Threats of Travel and Tourism in a Globalized Cultural Context” – Special Issue of World Leisure Journal. Call ends July 30, 2020
This special issue will cover empirical research (both qualitative and quantitative), and systematic reviews. Examples of evidence-based practice pertaining to tourism are also encouraged. All submissions will be peer-reviewed. Studies focusing on the relationship between leisure and tourism, as well as tourism from the global perspective and in non-dominant contexts (such as for example social tourism, volunteer tourism) are particularly sought.

To this day, and around the globe, the language and rituals of many sports and their associated cultural practices continue to be influenced by the adversarial structures of warfare whilst being promoted as regulated encounters that promote mutual understanding and tolerance. The Special Issue invites submissions of individual articles of up to 8000 words that explore the complex relationship between war, peace and sport in culture.
