Dr. Adrienne Milner is developing a two-volume book project to be published by ABC-CLIO-Praeger addressing women’s sport involvement in contemporary society. The volume highlights individual sportswomen as well as general empirical trends surrounding women’s sports participation.

We encourage submissions that resist the imposition of the white gaze as the primary lens through which we theorize about sexuality, gender, and black athletes. The collection will explore how cultural narratives of blackness, gender, and sexuality remain entangled in, through, and against sport.

The proposed focus of the book will be on a range of conceptual and theoretical issues in football, especially those that emerge from or have been exacerbated by the digital turn. Each chapter should be guided by a theoretical framework and will address at least one of the following themes: Digital football fandom; Football and social media; Football (sub)cybercultures.

Rob Lake, Stephen Wagg and Carol Osborne are pleased to announce that contractual arrangements have been made with Routledge for publication of The Routledge Handbook of Tennis: History, Culture and Politics. Due to be released in mid/late 2017, it is an edited collection aimed at providing a comprehensive critical study of tennis, its history, culture and politics.

The main question of this joint book-project is: What kind of impacts did the international football-tournaments of the past decades show on local, national and transnational fancultures. Please send your abstract for an article by May 1st 2016.

We are seeking contributors to our project, an edited volume of essays examining various aspects of professional wrestling and its relationship to other themes (nationalism, gender, race, etc.). The scope is broad and open, and authors are welcome to write about any individual, period, or location.

Sport Entrepreneurship and Innovation, edited by Vanessa Ratten and Joao Ferreira, will be published by Routledge in 2016. Abstracts are due on September 30th 2015; final papers due on December 15th 2015.

You are invited to submit an abstract of a book chapter proposal for a book that will be published tentatively in the fall/winter of 2016, with topics directly related to sport and diplomacy, especially how NGOs and governments around the world use sport for diplomatic purposes.

The editors have been approached by Routledge and asked to consider developing an edited collection surrounding interactions between lifestyle sports and the public policy arena to be published as part of their Research Monographs series.
