    Originally published in 2014 and edited by Jennifer Hargreaves and Eric Anderson, the Routledge Handbook of Sport, Gender and Sexuality comprises 53 chapters penned by 68 internationally renowned sport scholars. According to our reviewer Benjamin Moreland, this perennial handbook is a vital contribution to the academic conversations surrounding gender and sexuality and a foundational read for scholars and students alike.

    Not a final statement but a starting point: timely and extremely useful handbook for qualitative sport studies

    Just in time for the publication of Mark Brooke’s review of the Routledge Handbook of Qualitative Research in Sport and Exercise, edited by Brett Smith & Andrew C. Sparkes, Routledge chose to release the paperback edition, thereby decreasing the RRP from £190 to £40 – which is good, given that the book, according to our reviewer, is a valuable tool for social and cultural science scholars in the field of sport and exercise.

    Methodological toolboxes for scrutinising sports coaching

    Anne Tjønndal reviews two books about coaching, Women in Sports Coaching by Nicole LaVoi (ed.), and Research Methods in Sports Coaching by Lee Nelson, Ryan Groom & Paul Potrac (eds.), both titles from Routledge. Notwithstanding some shortcomings in both books, she considers them useful resources for studying the vast and multifarious field of sports coaching.
