Sportswear Exhibition | University of Westminster’s Ambika P3 exhibit space in Marylebone, London | April 12–28, 2024

The Westminster Menswear Archive at the University of Westminster is pleased to announce a major new exhibition exploring 100 years of British sportswear and its influence of fashion designers around the world.

The exhibition will held at the University of Westminster’s Ambika P3 exhibit space in Marylebone, London and will be open from the 12th of April to the 28th of April 2024 between the hours of 11 am-7 pm every day.

Highlights of the exhibition include:

    • Collaborations with British designers including Kim Jones, Paul Smith, Nigel Cabourn,
      Aries, Aitor Throup, R. Newbold, Philip Treacy, Peter Saville, and Palace.
    • International collaborations with Vetements, Supreme, Off-White, Rowing Blazers,
      Eliminator, Slam Jam, Bikkembergs, KANGHYUK, N.Hoolywood, Eliminator, and Patta.
    • A section dedicated to Aitor Throup’s highly influential Archive Research Project from
    • Historical examples of Umbro’s sportswear from 1936 to the present day including
      rowing, boxing, athletics, hockey, and basketball.
    • Historical football shirts from Manchester City, Manchester United, AFC Ajax,
      Scotland, and England.

With an emphasis on fashion collaboration, there’s lots about the Umbro company and football as well as other sports which appeals to many of our members.
