Redaktören har ordet

I dagarna fyller National Hockey League (NHL) hundra år. I Nordamerika inleddes firandet redan i början av året, men festligheternas klimax nåddes igår, söndagen den 26 november, på ligans formella födelsedag. Som ett bidrag till jubileet kommer idrottsforum.org att ha ett speciell NHL-tema denna vecka, genom att rikta fokus på viktiga forskningsinsatser rörande ligans kultur och historia. Det handlar då både om publicering av nyproducerade vetenskapliga texter och att lyfta fram redan publicerade akademiska alster. Dessutom utlovas en och annan överraskning. Syfte med greppet är bidra till en ökad förståelse för NHL:s framskjutna ställning inom ishockeyvärlden, samt att ringa in dess konsekvenser.
