    In 1968, St. Louis Cardinals linebacker Dave Meggyesy decided to protest the Vietnam War by refusing to put his hand over his heart during the National Anthem. He talked about it in this video produced by Kartemquin Films. His actions, similar to those of Colin Kaepernick, show football’s history of protest and political action. (Screen dump image)
