    sport-for-developmentDear Readers,

Welcome to Issue 86 of the sportanddev e-Newsletter!

Concerned with quality coaching standards, the East Africa Community Coach Education System (EACCES) is now launching a regional initiative, making sure that standards are defined, coaches benefit from increased support and communities thrive because of better project delivery. Focusing first on the organisations participating in the East Africa Cup and closely collaborating with the coordinating body of this exceptional S&D initiative, EACCES is currently mapping the existing best practices as well as challenges local organisations have on the ground. EACCES will then coordinate the process of defining coaching standards. The Platform will exclusively inform you about the progress made in this undertaking and will cover the developments in East Africa in the following weeks. Please make sure to read the first in a series of articles in the commentary section of this Newsletter.

Additional to the launch of this series of articles, you can find a fun video on the latest UNOSDP Youth Camp in Doha, a Women Win publication on Addressing Girls’ Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Through Sport and information about the most important events in the field taking place in April.

Last but not least, we ask you to participate in the sportanddev.org-survey, helping us to improve our services and making sure that the Platform remains your number one information tool for the latest news in Sport and Development.

    Enjoy your reading,

    Jutta Engelhardt
Executive Secretary to the Steering Board
