Call for Special Issue Proposals for 2020

Sport Business and Management: An International Journal (SBM) is inviting proposals for a Special Issue for the year 2020 (Issue 4). Special issue proposals need to focus on an area of research that falls within the broad scope of the journal and adds value in terms of addressing new or under-explored topics that reflect recent theoretical and empirical developments. SBM has a unique focus on business and management in sport that publishes papers from authors at mainstream business schools. SBM appeals to a wide audience which includes all sectors where sport is the direct focus of organizational activity; or where sport is being used in conjunction with other organizational activities.

Researchers interested in submitting a proposal for a Special Issue in SBM are kindly requested to send their submission to the Special Issues Coordinator Dr. Christos Anagnostopoulos (canagnostopoulos@uclan.ac.uk ). Proposal submissions are accepted until March, 15th 2019. Decisions on the Special Issue topic will be made by SBMโ€™s senior editorial board by March 30th 2019.

The proposal must include:

    • A description of the special issue including background, objectives and topics of interest (word count limit: 1000 words)
    • A section explaining why it should be of interest for academics and practitioners (debate in the literature, open issues, gaps, managerial relevance of the topic, intended contributions compared to existing studies, bibliometric on the topic, etc.) (word count limit: 1000 words)
    • A short biography of the guest editor(s) emphasizing their expertise in the topic

Further details on the review and publication process will be provided by the Editor and SI coordinator upon acceptance of the Special Issue.
