Loughborough University, Sports University of the Year 2023 (Times Good University Guide) and the number one ranked University for sports related subjects (2023 QS World University Rankings) is delighted to host an Academic Symposium led by the University’s Sport for Climate Action and Nature Group.
With sustainability at the forefront of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the 2024 European Football Championships in Germany, we question the leading role sport can play in mobilising climate action and addressing climate related issues. Often, we focus on the leading events to guide the way but not on the grassroots within sport which are impacted most. Leading academics, national governing bodies, climate action charities, athletes, fans and key policy makers will come together to present the key climate issues in sport and how we can overcome them.
The answers to the challenges we face are not simple, but we can start by asking the vital questions. Please join this crucial conversation as we begin co-creating a roadmap towards a sustainable future for sport and the planet.
To book your place, please use the online booking form by the 12th of January 2024, indicating any access or dietary requirements. On that page you will also find the program. Please do feel free to share details of this event with interested colleagues. If you have any questions about the event or need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact our Events Team.
We look forward to seeing you at Loughborough’s Sport for Climate Action and Nature Symposium.
Kind regards,
Professor Dan Parsons
