AIESEP’s 2013 Conference on “Physical Education and Sport: Challenging the Future” will be held in Warsaw, Polandbetween July 4-7, 2013. Please visit conference website www.aiesep2013.comand learn more about registration, the programme, travel, and accommodation.

The 2013 AIESEP Specialist Seminar is due to take place in Jyväskylä, Finland, on 12th-14th September 2013. This seminar will bring together experts with an interest in tackling questions and issues related to the role of physical education teacher education in ensuring quality PE in the classroom. The seminar hopes to facilitate the sharing of best practice between teacher education professionals from various countries, including those who educate PE specialists, classroom teachers, kindergarten teachers and teachers in special education. As this is a specialist seminar, spaces are limited to approximately 80 delegates and the organizers are currently making a list of those who might be interested in attending. The Special Interest Group (SIG) in Research on Learning and Instruction in Physical Education of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) will hold their “Invisible College” April 27-28, 2013 prior to the AERA Annual Meeting in San Francisco, CA. Registration for the Meeting will open on December 20, 2012. See www.aera.net for more details and contact Bryan McCullick (bamccull@uga.edu) for more information about the “Invisible College.”

10th International Scientific Conference in Sports Science and Physical Education – will be held in Podgorica,Montenegro on April 4– 7, 2013. The Conference will deal with all different aspects of Transformation Process in Sports Science and Physical Education. Experts will update you on the newest in cognition. The mix of keynote talks and workshops with hands-on training turns the program very attractive for young scientists as well as for experts. Scientists and especially young scientist are encouraged to submit their work. Because of high demand the deadline for paper submission has been extended until February 25, 2013. The 3rd Congress of the Scientific Society of Sport Pedagogy (Portugal) will take place 7 -8 June, 2013, in Espinho, POR. This event is organized by the SCPD and CESPU, and it has the support of the Municipality of Espinho. The theme of the congress is: “Sport Pedagogy: contexts and constraints”. It will focus on: (1) Scope : Promotion of studies in sport pedagogy, considering the diversity of social and professional contexts in sport, and reflecting on professional practices and constraints of pedagogical intervention in sport; (2) Contexts: Teaching Physical Education, Sport Coaching, Exercise and Health, Nature Sports, & Adapted Physical Activity; (3) Professional practices. The International Olympic Academy (www.ioa.org.gr) organizes the 10th International Session for Educators and Officials of Higher Institutes of Physical Education which will take place in Ancient Olympia, GRE from July 21st until July 28th 2013. The time limit for the submission of participation entries by name is fixed for Friday 15 March 2013 and will be strictly respected. Moreover, participants can prepare a short paper/presentation related to the special subject of the Session, not exceeding 7 minutes, which will be presented during the Session on condition that they will submit it, in electronic format, to the International Olympic Academy by Monday, 25 March 2013 at the latest in any of the three official languages of the I.O.A. (English – French – Greek).

The 10th International Conference on Teaching Physical Education and Sport at School will be held in Pontevedra, ESP, on September 5-8, 2013. The theme of the conference is ‘Physical Education and Sports as promoters of a healthy lifestyle: Resources of the natural and cultural environments to intervene on a sedentary lifestyle and obesity’. This event is organized by the Spanish Federation of Associations of Teachers of Physical Education (FEADEF). The XVII International Congress of the European Committee for Sport History (CESH) will take place from November 21-23, 2013 at Ramon Llull University in Barcelona, ESP. This Congress wants to encourage participation and exchange of investigations between European specialists and other international researchers. Our aim is to establish comparative analysis and contrasted reflections about the role of sport and the physical activities in periods of political, institutional and power crises also in stages of economic crisis and in moments of ideological and cultural crises too. This multidimensional vision of the concept of crisis linked to sport must be able to be studied from a wide chronological perspective as well as from the interest of local, national and international studies. ICSSPE is currently accepting papers for two sections for their May Bulletin: 1) This issue’s special feature section will cover the topic of Sports Law and will be edited by Lauri Tarasti and Kari Keskinen. Sports law has come to be an important part of sport life. It is therefore crucial to improve our knowledge of the topic. ICSSPE would like to contribute to the spread of knowledge. We would like to invite you to publish your research on Sports Law in our Bulletin. 2) We also invite you to contribute to the Current Issues section of the Bulletin. Please use this opportunity to inform our readers about the research you are currently conducting, about events your organization has recently held, etc. If you’d like to take a look at some older versions of the Bulletin, please visit the “free resources” section of our website (www.icsspe.org). Please let us know by the end of the month (February 28, 2013) if and to which section you would like to contribute an article. Articles should be submitted by March 31, 2013.

The Journal STAPS calls for papers for a special issue on “The artistic and sensitive: the learning assessment.” This special issue aims to make available to students and trainers part of the work: on the one hand, authors who have published on this topic and on the other hand, a call for contributions.
