That Was The Week That Was,
    October 27 — November 2, 2025

    Dear all,

Some of you may recall a reference made in this newsletter a couple of weeks ago to an upcoming move of our editorial offices. Well, tomorrow we will access the new premises for the first time, to start planning the layout, testing the technical solutions, and so on. Mind you, the actual move is not until December 5, but there will be things to fix in order to upgrade the localities to the kind of quality and efficaciousness that we require and we’re accustomed to. We’ll keep you informed of future developments.
Last week the following items were published on idrottsforum.org (see below; language and publication dates, YYMMDD, in brackets). Click on the red headings to go to content. Utilize the Google Translate service to turn Scandinavian language pages into (some sort of) English.
And remember, if you’re not already hooked up to one of the social media outlets that we utilize, for now they are Facebook, Bluesky, LinkedIn and X, you’re missing quite a lot of information from idrottsforum.org that never appears on the website. So, if that is the case, check out, by clicking on the names, our Facebook, Bluesky, LinkedIn and X accounts.
    Have a great week,
    Kjell Eriksson

Christopher Engdahl, PhD, senior lecturer in sports science at the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences, Stockholm, discusses in this feature article learning through practical physical activity in relation to the fact that teaching in the subject of sports and health is becoming increasingly digitalized and theoretical. Based on a research review that includes experiences from the Covid-19 era, the author concludes that the core of the subject of sports – learning in and through movement – is more important than ever to safeguard. The Olympic Games, Sports Law and Human Rights by Alexandre Miguel Mestre (Routledge) explores the relationship between sports law, the Olympic Movement and human rights, examining the historical legal roots of contemporary “Olympic law”. Jan Andre Lee Ludvigsen is our reviewer and he finds that Mestre has written a timely and interesting book that, a few minor omissions notwithstanding, can be recommended as a helpful resource for students, researchers and practitioners interested in the history of Olympic laws.
