Book Reviews
Crossing the line?: The Press and Anglo-German Football Rivalry, by Christoph Wagner

In Crossing the line? The Press and Anglo-German Football Rivalry (Peter Lang Publishers), Christoph Wagner writes about England’s rivalry with West Germany/Germany played out on the football pitch in the second half of the twentieth century. The central sources for his study are newspapers from England and West Germany. Hans Bolling seems to have really enjoyed the book (although he would have preferred to read it in German); it is well researched and instructive. And it mentions Kurt Hamrin. (Review in English, published 240416.)
Research Handbook on Sport and COVID-19, by Paul M. Pedersen (ed.)

Paul M. Pedersen’s edited collection Research Handbook on Sport and COVID-19 (Edward Elgar) examines sport-related research and analysis pertaining to how the sport industry has been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and discusses how the sport industry and its stakeholders might move forward in post-pandemic times. Our reviewer is Leonardo Colares Castro, and he deals with this 462 pages, 34 chapters and 92 authors volume in the only way possible – taking a comprehensive view, finding the many advantages and making note of a few shortcomings. (Review in English, published 240417.)
Dans som undervisning: Dans, pedagogik, estetik, etik. Teori och metod [Dance as teaching: Dance, pedagogy, aesthetics, ethics. Theory and method], by Paul Moerman

In his book Dance as teaching: Dance, pedagogy, aesthetics, ethics. Theory and method (Studentlitteratur) Paul Moerman presents a theoretical basis in the tension between dance art and pedagogy as well as a solid dance methodology for preschool, school and leisure classes educational activities. Our reviewer Märtha Pastorek Gripson sees in the book an important contribution where aesthetics, movement and body are combined with both theory and practical tools. It should be present in all teachars’ common rooms, and in the bookshelves of all sports teachers and K–12 teachers. (Book and review in Swedish, published 240418. An English language edition is underway.)
