The UKSDN is passionate about encouraging practice informed research and research informed practice. We are inviting submissions for papers and posters to be presented at the UKSDN 2018 conference. Presentations will last for a maximum of 10 minutes and will form part of a convened discussion to stimulate critical, forward-thinking conversations.

This M.A. program is designed primarily for graduates of sports, social sciences and humanities who have a strong interest in the political, cultural, economic and social aspects of sport. Aiming at a comprehensive understanding of structures, actors and conflicts in sport and physical activity, it provides an international focus on sport, including transnational and comparative dimensions.

This conference comes at an important time for sport development in the UK; following a major sport policy shift by government and at a time when key stakeholders are considering their responses to new priorities. We anticipate a large number of delegates from both academic and practitioner focused backgrounds with senior figures participating as keynote speakers and presenters.

Under årets NEON-konferanse i Bodø arrangeres en egen sesjon om idrett. Tema for årets idrettssesjonen er ‘Endring, innovasjon og omstilling i idrett’. Norsk og internasjonal idrett står i dag ovenfor store endringer, eksempelvis i form av økt kommersialisering og sportifisering, økende grad av profesjonalisering og fremvekst av nye idrettsaktiviteter.
