Når hormonelle endringar døgnet rundt får både storleiken på hjertet og blodvolumet til å auke så mykje, kor mykje betyr da nokre timar med kondisjonstrening? Landgraff konkluderer med at til dømes intervalltrening er mykje mindre viktig for uthaldet hos unge enn hos eldre. Årsaken er at sjølve voksteren tek seg av å auke oksygenopptaket, og dette er lite påverka av kva ein trener. Og det får konsekvensar for kva trenarar og også foreldre bør leggje vekt på.
