The quest for legitimacy: Discussing the rational myth inherent in ‘Sport for development and peace’

In Niklas Hafen’s article, two Scandinavian SDP programs serve as examples: LdB FC for Life in South Africa (sport and HIV/AIDS prevention) and Open Fun Football Schools in Moldova (sport and peace building). Drawing on a case study methodology, representatives involved in these cases have been interviewed, and observations in South Africa and Moldova have been made targeting the practical implementation of each endeavor. The aim of the article is to analyze the relationship between rhetoric and practice surrounding both projects.

En svensk ”Sport Management-kanon”

SISU Förlags ambitiösa trebandsutgåva Sport Management 1–3, under redaktion av Åsa Bäckström, Karin Book, Bo Carlsson och PG Fahlström, får genomgående positiva omdömen av idrottsforum.orgs recensenter, Søren Bennike som recenserade del 1 i oktober 2019, och Julius Z. Strömberg i föreliggande recension av delarna 2 och 3. Strömberg efterlyser visserligen ett nordiskt perspektiv men ser inte den bristen som ett hinder för att använda böckerna när han lär ut sport management på Norges idrettshøgskole.

Väl genomförd studie av politikens och vardagslivets internationella relationer

Ulf Jonsson recenserar Niklas Hafens avhandling En vandring längs välviljans väg: En studie om idrott och internationellt utvecklingsarbete genom de skandinaviska exemplen LdB FC For Life i Sydafrika och Open Fun Football Schools i Moldavien (Bokförlaget idrottsforum.org). En bok, menar han, med relevans långt utanför det idrottsvetenskapliga fältet.
