Forskarprofil | Daniel Svensson, Malmö Universitet
Daniel Svensson, PhD in history, works as a senior lecturer in sports management at Malmö University. His research interest lies in sports management and sports science, with a certain bias towards sports history and environmental history. Svensson’s 2016 thesis dealt with the historical relationship of fitness sports to physiology. His research often has a historical perspective, but also more contemporary elements. Sportification, scientificization and the relationship between sport, outdoor life and the environment have been main themes.

In Elisabet Apelmo’s artistic works, ideas about the body, associated to gender, power and identity, have been central themes. She has taken those interests along to her present research in sociology. Theoretically, she combines phenomenology, feministic theory and disability studies/crip theory with a sociological understanding of structures and institutional processes.
