The Journal of Leisure Research (JLR) publishes research findings from original investigations that contribute new knowledge and understanding to the field of recreation and leisure studies.  The findings of these cutting-edge research projects are relevant to  researchers, students, and practitioners.

As always, we have an eclectic programme in store, taking in Irish nationalism and Gaelic sports in Britain; Soviet sport and the fall of communism; local studies in leisure, religion and associational culture; British musical countercultures and subcultures; and Britpop nostalgia in the 21st century.

Loisir et Société / Society & Leisure is a bilingual, multidisciplinary and thematic journal that publishes on leisure and free time with their relation to cultural, economic and social dimensions of individuals and communities. We seek submissions from scholars working in diverse fields (history, anthropology, sociology, media studies, cultural studies, among others) as our intent is to facilitate a dialogue that is as interdisciplinary as possible.

This special issue responds to the calls for ethical considerations, seeking contributions that address a range of ethical issues across the leisure field, from the macro ‘corporate’ issues to the micro-moralities of individuals offering or engaging in specific leisure activities.
