Med konferencens tema ønsker vi blandt andet at styrke, forny og formidle viden om, hvilken betydning idræt og bevægelse har for børn og unges lære-, være- og udviklingsprocesser. Herunder er der også fokus på, hvordan idræt og bevægelse kan skabe glæde, engagement, trivsel, sundhed og læring. Konferencen har i særdeleshed fokus på nye tendenser indenfor det kvalitative område til at belyse disse emner.

The aim of this conference is to provide a platform for the knowledge exchange between scholars (from a range of disciplines), stakeholders, and practitioners who are united by a focus on sports media. The event will take stock of the current position by examining notable case studies from the recent past, and aims to foster new inter- and/or post-disciplinary trajectories and scholarship/practitioner collaborations.

In our fifth instalment of horse sessions at the International Medieval Congress, we especially invite submissions in horse history responding to the special thematic strand of IMC 2020: borders. The Symposium will aim to illuminate and nuance the relationship between gender and power within the transnational regulatory system that governs football (with FIFA at its helm); to identify specific gendered implications of existing governance structures, rules and procedures; and to consider innovative ideas for feminist reform or revolution.

There has to date been little considered and comparative analysis of the many ways in which sporting stories are told across different cultures and the many purposes they serve. ‘Telling the Story of Sport’ aims to redress this by creating a forum in which individual scholars are invited to contextualise their research and begin to develop a fuller understanding of the phenomenon of sporting narrative practices.

The symposium will bring together the spectrum of behavioral, mental, and physical health professionals who aim to positively influence the mental health and functioning of athletes. In college, professional, and Olympic sports there is a movement towards integrated behavioral health teams that include physicians, trainers, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nutritionists, and other licensed professional counselors.
