The 12th Czech Philosophy of Sport Conference will be held at the Faculty of PE and Sport, Charles University, Prague, October 19–21, 2023. We plan to organise a ‘physical’ meeting with a limited number of online presentations as exceptions. The sport and religion conference, focussed on the relationship between philosophy and sport, seeks to be a horizon for reflections and contributions from across the spectrum of academic knowledge, promoting the sharing of research, thought and practice.

The CSSOR Program Committee welcomes high quality academic work on sport studies topics such as race, gender, politics, legacy, youth, or disability. Proposed research papers focusing on broader sociocultural topics within sport are welcomed in addition to research specifically addressing the Olympic Movement. Scholars in the fields of, for instance, history, philosophy, management, communication, ancient and modern languages, literature, and law are encouraged to submit proposals or attend the conference.

The Finnish Society for Sports History and the Department of History and Ethnology at the University of Jyväskylä jointly organize Nordic–Baltic Sports History Congress at the University of Jyväskylä, in Finland, 8th–9th of December 2023. The Congress will be arranged in hybrid form, so it will be possible to attend the Congress in face-to-face manner or remotely by Zoom. The congress language is English. The speeches are expected to be twenty minutes, and ten minutes are reserved for public discussion.
