    Temaet for avhandlinga er undervisning om helse i kroppsøvingsfaget. Helse har over lang tid vore ein del av faget som det har blitt vektlagt at elevane skal få kunnskap om. Samtidig blir fagmiljøet prega av diskusjon om to forskjellige retningar om kva og korleis elevane skal lære. Ein meir instrumentell retning med dreiing mot auka aktivitetsnivå, medan den andre er meir oppteken av at undervisninga må ha fokus på at elevane skal lære om helse.
