Dr. Adrienne Milner is developing a two-volume book project to be published by ABC-CLIO-Praeger addressing women’s sport involvement in contemporary society. The volume highlights individual sportswomen as well as general empirical trends surrounding women’s sports participation.

This is the final installment of the Malmö Research Seminar Series in Sport Sciences, Malmö University, Fall 2015, and it’s all about women in sports. The seminars will take place at the Orkanen building (Nordenskiöldsgatan 10) in Room E121c, between 15:15 to 17:00. This seminar is in Swedish.

Taking place just before the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, the workshop aims to provide information and analysis on the state of sport in the Arab World through the multidisciplinary lenses of political science, history, economics, business, and law, among others.

Karin S. Lindelöf är etnolog och har bl a forskat om kvinnor i Polen och om abortfrågan i svensk debatt. Hon driver också ett forskningsföretag med genus- och jämställdhetsinriktning. Hennes pågående forskningsprojekt handlar om så kallade tjejlopp, och hon planerar en studie om kvinnliga äventyrare.

The authors see this Report as a way to continue the discussion about why gender differences were introduced in sports, what differences remain, how those differences compare across sports, why they remain, and how they may be resolved, and they argue that it is crucial for athletes and former athletes to be involved in these discussions.

Martina Bergman-Österberg, 1849–1915, was a Swedish physical education instructor and women's suffrage advocate. After studying Swedish gymnastics in Stockholm she moved to London, where she founded the first physical education instructor's college in England, in which she admitted women only.

The considerable growth of interest in commerce, media and politics in the modern world and their relationship to sport in international academia has resulted in academics in various disciplines writing about sport.
