The Global Observatory for women, sport, physical education and physical activity is being created in order to promote gender equality and to create a coherent movement in the sport space around the world on this issue. Based on the Kazan Action Plan that fosters convergence of sport policies with the Sustainable Development Goals, the Global Observatory’s creation is being championed by UNESCO and aims to address Sustainable Development Goal 5 of the 2030 United Nations Agenda for Sustainable Development.

På Malmö stads hemsida presenteras en rad konkreta förslag för hur elever ska få ”utveckla sin fysiska, sociala och psykiska förmåga att vilja, våga och kunna vara aktiv genom hela livet”. Samtliga förslag handlar om rörelse på raster, aktiva klassrum eller rörelse i anslutning till skoldagen. Skolans idrottsundervisning nämns inte med ett ord. Det är märkligt!
