På vilka sätt kan idrott bidra till förbättrade livssituationer för placerade unga? Denna avhandling undersöker idrottspedagogik på särskilda ungdomshem, baserad på etnografi på två ungdomshem för pojkar i Sverige. En teoretisk utgångspunkt är att ungdomshem kan betraktas som pedagogiska praktiker, där i första hand utbildning och lärande sker. Avhandlingen beskriver och analyserar ungdomarnas levda erfarenheter av idrott och hur de kan relateras till olika syften och praktiker som framträder i idrottsaktiviteter på särskilda ungdomshem.

Football has also become a battlefield for political, social and cultural divisions, which makes the case of Turkey even more appealing for football scholars.

Mellom anna har dei utstyrt spelarar med øyrepluggar; desse målte akselerasjonskreftene som hovudet til spelarane blei utsette for når dei nikka. Dei har også kartlagt omfanget av nikking i barne- og ungdomsfotball. Her kom det fram at unge under 12-13 år nikkar svært lite.
