    Proposed research papers focusing on broader sociocultural topics within sport are welcomed in addition to research specifically addressing the Olympic Movement. Scholars in the fields of history, philosophy, management, communication, ancient and modern languages, literature, visual and performing arts, anthropology, sociology, cultural studies, economics, marketing, and law are encouraged to submit proposals or attend the conference.

    This Call for Abstracts is presented in English and in Swedish. The conference is organized by the Department of Sport Sciences at Malmö University together with the Center of Research on Welfare, Health and Sport, Halmstad University. As a step towards increased internationalization, all keynotes and one conference track will be in English during the two days. Additionally, representatives from the sports movement as well as physical education teachers will be invited to attend.

Not only is it a lucrative field that creates athlete-tycoons but it also generates idols for the younger generations; is that useful or not? We wish to explore how sport has affected literature, arts and culture; understand its impact on economy and politics; and delve into the psychology, identity and behavior of people as these relate to sport.
