The ISHPES Gigliola Gori Award will be presented at the 2026 ISHPES Congress to be held in Taipei, Taïwan on August 12-14, 2026. It is awarded for an unpublished essay of outstanding quality in the field of sport history. The essay must be submitted in English and the text itself (including notes and bibliography) must not exceed 8,000 words. The essay should conform to The International Journal of  History of Sport style for format and references. The award winner will receive a €500 prize, free registration at the Congress and a year’s membership to ISHPES.

The aim of the award is to facilitate the integration of outstanding graduate students and early career researchers into the European community of sociology of sport scholars. The award will be granted to a scholarly paper authored by an early-career researcher, which is deemed by a panel of judges to be of highest quality. The winning author will receive a monetary prize and will be invited to present the paper at the Annual Conference of the EASS, to be hosted by the University of Jyväskylä on 15th–18th June 2026.

The North American Society for Sport History (NASSH) invites submissions for its NASSH Dissertation Prize. The newly inaugurated Dissertation Prize will be awarded on a biannual basis and recognize outstanding doctoral dissertations in the field of sport history. The winner of the prize will receive $1000.

Eass is proud to announce the 13th Eass Young Researcher Award. The aim of the award is to facilitate the integration of outstanding graduate students and young researchers into the European community of sociology of sport scholars. The winning author will be invited to receive the award and present the paper at the Annual Conference of the Eass, to be hosted online by the Universidad de Sevilla, University of Cordoba and Pablo de Olavide University in 7-10 September 2021.

The award will be granted to a scholarly paper authored by a young researcher, which is deemed by a panel of judges to be of highest quality. The winning author will be invited to receive the award and present the paper at the Annual Conference of the Eass in 18-21 May 2020
