Qualitative Research in Sport, Exercise and Health is a landmark publication – it is the first international journal solely dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of qualitative research in the sport, exercise, and health sciences. Sport and alcohol go way back in sport history, hand in hand. Drink manufacturers sponsor sport, sports people drink and endorse various alcoholic beverages. Is it a sort of symbiosis? Anyway, it’s been the subject of a number of academic studies, the latest being a collected volume by Sarah Gee, Sport, Alcohol and Social Inquiry: A Global Cocktail (Emerald), which is reviewed here by Alan Bairner – and “there could have been few better choices”.

Sport, Ethics and Philosophy is an international peer-reviewed journal which publishes original research contributions to scientific knowledge. It publishes high quality articles from a wide variety of philosophical traditions. The considerable growth of interest in commerce, media and politics and their relationship to sport in international academia has resulted in academics in various disciplines writing about sport. Sport in Society is a multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary forum for academics to discuss the growing relationship of sport to significant areas of modern life.

The Journal of the Philosophy of Sport provides a forum for discussion of philosophical issues – metaphysical, ethical, epistemological, aesthetic, or otherwise – arising in sport, games, play, dance, embodiment, and other motor-related activities. Special Section: Sport, Narrative, and Drama.

Sport, Ethics and Philosophy publishes high quality articles from a wide variety of philosophical traditions, and is particularly open to essays of applied philosophy that engage with issues or practice, policy and scholarship concerning the nature and values of sports.

Carwyn Rh. Jones är professor i idrottsetik vid Cardiff Metropolitan University, med en imponerande publikationslista. Hans senaste bok tar upp ett känsligt kapitel inom idrotten. Kenneth Aggerholm has read Cesar R. Torres’ edited volume The Bloomsbury Companion to the Philosophy of Sport, where a number of proficient scholars converge and contribute to what amounts to a truly good companion.
