Speakers

Dr Petra Kolić is a senior lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University. Petra is a social scientist with an interest in how experiences of menstrual health and menstrual stigma can impact activities, processes, and interactions in daily life. Petra is an expert in conducting qualitative research studies. She predominantly utilises interpretivist and behaviour change theories to improve our understanding of how menstrual health and menstrual stigma impact activities of daily life with a focus on sport, exercise, and education to develop interventions for education and behaviour change.

Agatha Gibbons is a PhD student at the University of Waikato, New Zealand. Her research explores Pacific Sportswomen’s experiences and knowledge of menstruation. Through her research she aims to improve the support structures for Pacific sportswomen by expanding sports and health providers’ understandings of the culturally specific needs, knowledge, and values of Pacific sportswomen. She is from Fiji, and played collegiate Volleyball in the US for 7 years, and has coached Volleyball for 3 years.
