Conference aims
The Conference Committee invites the submission of abstracts for papers that align with the aims of the conference:
- To facilitate critical and creative dialogue that responds to the sociopolitical complexity of leisure practices, formations and organisation in contemporary life.
- To invite diverse disciplinary perspectives, methodological and theoretical approaches from within, and beyond the field, to situate the study of leisure within in a post-disciplinary future.
The conference seeks to mobilise critical and creative insights, relationships and collaborations between academics, and also with non-academic participants who have been involved in co-created research (artists, activists, policy makers and professionals).
Abstract Submission Process and Key Dates
- Abstracts should be submitted by 1 February 2018
- Notification of decision will be made by 1 March 2018
Abstracts related to conference themes
These themes (see more detail below) are managed by the conference organisers. Please contact LSA2018@bath.ac.uk for further information.
Abstracts should be 250-350 words, structured as follows:
- Full title of paper as it will appear in the conference programme.
- Name, institutional affiliation and email address.
- Abstract main body, including background (outline of the context and/or academic literature informing the research), approach (indication of the broad theoretical orientation and/or methodological approach) and significance (description and application of the original research findings reported in the paper)
- Conference theme the paper is aimed at.
- In addition please include a 150 word (max) biography.
We will notify authors of abstract acceptance and submit their completed sessions by 1 March 2018.
