The International Journal of Motorsport Management (IJMM) is an academic journal designed to address the unmet need within the motorsport industry for applied research that can be utilized by current industry teams, tracks, sanctioning bodies, sponsors, marketing agencies, and other related stakeholders. The goal is to provide the international motorsport community a centralized source for “management-related” topics that can improve the daily function and efficiency of their organization. The ultimate aim of the IJMM is to bring together the research skills of academia and the applied requirements of the industry.
Authors are invited to submit manuscripts for the second volume to be published in November 2013. IJMM published its first issue, available at http://scholar.wssu.edu/ijmm/, in 2011. All levels (amateur, grassroots, and professional) and varieties (NASCAR, Formula 1, drag racing, Moto GP, LeMans) of motorsport are welcome for review. Research articles addressing the following topics in motorsports are suggested:
- The economic impact of motorsport events
- Sponsorship of motorsport teams, venues, and sanctioning bodies
- Facility management in motorsport operations (team shops, tracks)
- Social media and marketing in motorsports
Guidelines for submitting articles are found at http://scholar.wssu.edu/ijmm/policies.html. Manuscripts for IJMM should be submitted electronically at http://scholar.wssu.edu/cgi/submit.cgi?context=ijmm. The deadline for consideration in the next issue of the journal is August 31, 2013.
I look forward to seeing your research,
Clay Harshaw
